Acupuncture for Spring Allergies

Spring is my favorite time of year.  The warming temperatures and longer daylight hours make me happy, and I love to see the flowers and trees waking from their winter slumber.  Spring brings a sense of hope, creativity and renewed life.

But, I know some people dread this time of year.  Many suffer from seasonal allergies, and up to 30% of Americans experience allergic rhinitis.  I know folks with allergies so severe, that they have to hide indoors when the pollen count is high, or when their neighbors mow their lawns.

If you’re one of the people who suffer from allergies, I have some good news: acupuncture and moxibustion are safe and effective for treating moderate to severe allergy symptoms with regular sessions.    It can help with your itchy eyes and nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, and a runny nose.  And, there is evidence showing the anti-inflammatory effects of specific acupuncture points that acupuncturists can use to help you.

While acupuncture can help relieve symptoms as you are experiencing them, it’s best to prepare your body to fight off that evil pollen in advance.  Even though spring hasn’t quite sprung yet, start thinking about acupuncture treatments to help lessen your symptoms in the weeks to come.  You can book your appointment here.
